Zayfire Armis got 2018 going by winning at Leicester on the 11th. Ridden by Tom Scu and owned by Aramis Racing. This was the 9 year olds second win of his career. He is a great big horse who has taken a while to fill his frame, but the patience from his owners has paid off and he has been ultra consistent this season and deserved to get his head in front. Hopefully he can build on this and keep improving. Thoughts were with his usual pilot Liam Treadwell who is unfortunately out injured, but will hopefully be back soon!!
Two Smokin Barrels headed to Newbury on the 17th for ultra competitive 3m handicap. Ridden by Robbie Dunne she jumped brilliantly (having fallen last time out), she cruised through the race jumped the last upsides in front before finishing 3rd. This was a great run from this tough mare who won four races last season, owned by Martin Jones she may now have a little break before heading to Haydock at the end of March for a series final.

Northern Beau and Wimpole made the long trip up to Mussleburgh to run on Friday 19th. Northern Beau was having her first run for us having been bought by Lyn Maclennan in May following her two point to point wins in Ireland. She ran in a mares novice hurdle over 2m, ridden by Robbie Dunne she jumped brilliantly from the front and just got touched off after the last to finish second only beaten half a length. This was a very exciting first run from this promising mare who will only improve for this run and will stay a lot further than this in time as well. Unfortunately Wimpole was again to keen for his own good and pulled far to hard, he will now have some runs on the flat to see if this helps him settle
